Wireless selected as a provider of 3G CDMA2000 wireless modems

With
these solutions, business users will be able to access enterprise applications
via wireless local area networks (LANS) and 3G wireless networks with
the same level of security typically associated with other common remote
access methods such as cable modem, dial-up, and DSL. "Convenience,
security, and reliability are all factors that will drive enterprise
adoption of wireless data and our portfolio of products and services
will address these critical needs," said John Marinho, Vice President
of Offer Management, Lucent's Mobility Solutions Group. "Sierra
Wireless's 3G CDMA2000 wireless products are a key part of our portfolio
that will help mobile operators deliver secure, high-speed wireless
data access to enterprise customers." Lucent's
Secure Mobile Data Solutions for Enterprises portfolio includes public
wireless LAN solutions, mobile devices, wireless, and data networking
equipment, client software, roaming clearinghouse, data service management,
and integrator capabilities. The partners contributing to the multi-party
portfolio offering include Agere Systems (ORiNOCO(R) Wireless Networks),
HP, iPass, and ipUnplugged. As part of this initiative, all participants
will also collaborate to sell and market the solutions to mobile operators
and enterprise customers.
