The
Wireless Village initiative was established by Ericsson, Motorola, and
Nokia to define and promote a set of universal specifications for mobile
instant messaging and presence services as well as creating a community
of supporters of which magic4 is an active member. The specifications
are used for exchanging messages and presence information between mobile
devices, mobile services and Internet-based instant messaging services.
The protocol is optimised for the requirements of mobile devices and
wireless networks. Interoperability
between magic4's existing EMS and MMS technology and the new Wireless
Village compliant solutions will provide complementary messaging services
with a consistent look and feel, while reducing development costs and
accelerating handset time-to-market for manufacturers" These solutions are available today and mark an important milestone in the evolution of mobile messaging and magic4. |
