The Earlier 3G Application Details Are Below : EuroTel Bratislava announced that on May 14, 2002, it submitted a bid for a third-generation (UMTS) mobile license pursuant to a tender initiated by the Slovak Telecom Office on March 15, 2002. "There are three applicants that submitted a bid for either the combined GSM and UMTS license or solely the UMTS license. The bids were collected from EuroTel Bratislava, a.s., Orange Slovensko, a.s. for the UMTS license only and from Profinet.sk, a.s. for the combined GSM and UMTS license", Slovak Telecom Office said in its press release yesterday.
EuroTel is a leading telecommunications company in the Slovak Republic, offering both mobile telecommunications services and managed data network services. As of March 31, 2002, 1 018 733 active customers were using the services provided by EuroTel Bratislava, a.s., of which 750 631 are active users of prepaid cards. EuroTel's GSM and NMT mobile networks cover approximately 98% of the Slovak Republic's 5.4 million population. EuroTel is the first and only provider of high-speed data services (HSCSD) in the Slovak market. The company works with 202 roaming partners in 100 countries worldwide. |
