World's first 12.2 inch S-Pen tablet and it's got a stunning specification
The most significant of the new devices is undoubtedly the Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2, which is the only 12.2 inch tablet to feature Samsung's acclaimed S-Pen stylus interface, has an industry-leading specification and comes pre-loaded with Android KitKat (4.4).
The 12.2 inch monster supports Samsung's full suite of S-Pen applications, including Action Memo, Scrapbook, Screen Write and S Finder. Users can also take advantage of the 'Pen Window' feature which enables them to draw a box of any size on the screen and open an application inside the window which then sits on top of the main screen.
Multi-tasking is boosted further by 'Multi-Window' giving users the option to view up to 4 different screens at once. Samsung have also introduced a new personalised Magazine UX, which has been optimised for larger displays, delivering a custom feed of content that is now even easier to read.
The innovative features don't end there because you can use your tablet to control your desktop PC and vice versa with 'Remote PC'. And the good news is that these features are also present on Samsung's Galaxy Tab Pro range of tablets as well.
Samsung's tablet has a massive 12.2 inch touch-screen WQXGA widescreen display (2560x1600 pixels) which is made up from 4 million pixels. To power a display of this size and resolution you need some pretty powerful hardware and the Galaxy Note 12.2 more than delivers on that front.
The processor you get depends on which version you buy, with the 3G/WiFi variants coming with an Octa-core Exynos 5 chip (1.9GHz and 1.3GHz cores), while the 4G LTE model is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor (2.3 GHz). Whichever you choose you'll get a whopping 3GB of RAM and a choice between 32 or 64GB of storage.
The Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 has dimensions of 295.6 x 204 x 7.95mm and weighs 750g, which is pretty reasonable given that Samsung have included a whopping 9500mAh battery. The tablet also has an 8 mega-pixel camera with LED flash, front-facing 2 mega-pixel camera and comes pre-loaded with Android KitKat (4.4).
Samsung stated that the Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 will be available to buy in Q1 2014, but didn't given any more precise details. We also don't know how much it'll cost, but you can be sure it won't come cheap and we predict it'll cost at least £700.
