Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android KitKat rollout begins in Europe

Owners of the Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 have been waiting patiently for the Korean company to begin rolling out Android KitKat to the phablet.

Good news... owners of the Galaxy Note 3 in Poland have now got the update which is available to download from Samsung's Kies software. Presumably this marks the start of a European wide roll-out, so it shouldn't be too long before the Android 4.4 update lands in the UK.

Previous rumours suggested that the Android KitKat update would bring a new TouchWiz interface to Samsung's Galaxy Note 3. But unfortunately that hasn't come to fruition, which is a real shame because the screenshots of the redesign posted by EVLeaks (below) are stunning.

On a more positive note the update does bring the new translucent notification bar to Samsung's phablet alongside the white icons that debuted on Google's Nexus 5. And initial benchmarks show a slight boost in performance thanks to the KitKat update.

Details about the new features and improvements brought to the Note 3 by Android KitKat are still pretty sketchy. More details are bound to filter out over the next couple of days and until then you can learn more about the Android KitKat platform here.

As soon as 3G.co.uk get more news about the availability of the Android KitKat update for the Galaxy Note 3 in the UK we'll let you know.
