HTC One Android KitKat update lands in Europe

And it's jumping straight to Android KitKat 4.4.2

HTC UK took to Twitter back in November to confirm that Android KitKat would roll-out to the HTC One at the end of January. They look set to be true to their word because the update has now begun rolling out in Europe.

The French operator SFR has made the Android KitKat (4.4.2) update available over-the-air to HTC One owners on their network. This is the first time the update has been available in Europe and should mark the start of a wider roll-out.

Those with Google Play Editions of the HTC One have been enjoying the chocolate-themed update since November. While, SIM-free owners of HTC's smartphone in the US got the update late last year.

When the UK joins the party, owners of HTC's award-winning mobile will get all the benefits of the latest version of Android, as well as a new version of HTC Sense (5.5). That'll mean a fresh new look, a host of new features and performance improvements across the board.
