3G has already reviewed the HTC Desire 500 when our reviewer commented 'For under £200 the HTC Desire 500 delivers a great amount. It's a good looking device which delivers better performance and has an improved camera than many of its rivals'.
It comes with Android overlaid with HTC Sense and features the much loved Blinkfeed. With Blinkfeed you can easily keep up to date with over 10,000 news feeds per day. However, you can customise your own Blinkfeed newsfeed to just bring in things of interest to you.
Another useful feature is Automatic Video Highlights. This automatically creates a 30 second movie from your videos and photos. Choose the music theme and image sequence you want and your movie is done. No additional software or editing skills are required.
You can also take photos and videos at the same time with VideoPic whilst the Rapid Shutter Camera mode captures more images in an instant with its multi-shot burst mode.
Physically, the smartphone is stylish and compact as can be seen in the image above. The good looks are complemented by the fuax-metallic band and stylish speaker grills.
The HTC Desire comes with a 4.3 inch display screen with 800x480 pixel resolution which equates to a 217 pixels-per-inch rating (PPI). The power comes from its 1.2 GHz quad-core processor which is supported by 1GB of RAM and 4GB of on-board memory.
The main camera weighs in at 8 megapixels and is capable of recording 720p videos. Budding photographers will find HTC’s 'Multi-Shot Burst Mode',, 'Automatic Video Highlights', Sweep Panorama' and 'HDR mode' of real value producing great results.< Back
