EE will open 50 new retail stores in 2014 creating up to 350 new jobs as part of the company’s on-going retail improvement programme.
The new stores will be located in high street and retail park locations. The company did not say where the new stores would be located and were not ready to let 3G.co.uk know when we contacted them.
EE is also undertaking a multi-million pound investment programme to modernise stores and to expand its franchise programme to a total of 100 stores.
However, EE plan to close some shops in a number of selected areas. This applies where two shops exist in close proximity to one another. The company will close one store and move staff to the remaining store.
Deirdre Burns, Retail Director at EE, said: “This is a truly exciting time for our business. We have just announced that over two million customers enjoy superfast 4G – twice our target for 2013. Our retail team has played a key role in this success and we have no intention of standing still. The High Street is working for us, and we are committed to operating the best shops, in the right locations.
