Apple to fix "white/black screen of death" iOS 7 bug
Have you been navigating around your iOS 7 powered iPhone, iPad or iPod when the home-screen suddenly locks up and the device reboots itself?
Well, you are not alone because there is a whole thread dedicated to the problem over on Apple's support forums. Thankfully, Apple have taken notice and are working on a fix for the problem, which seems more prevalent when battery life dips below 30 per cent.
"We have a fix in an upcoming software update for a bug that can occasionally cause a home screen crash," said Apple spokesperson Trudy Muller in a statement given to Mashable.
No news on when it'll be released, but iOS 7.1 recently seeded to developers and seems like the most logical time to include the fix. But it's also possible it'll be issued as a standalone patch and as soon as we get more details you'll be the first to know.
The crashing issue has been deemed "white/black screen of death" by those affected, playing off the dreaded "Blue screen of death" that features on Microsoft's Windows platform. In iOS 7 the boot-screen is either black or white depending on the colour of the facing on the users' iPhone.
