Apple iPhone 6 summer launch for 4.7 inch version, 5.7 inch version comes later
Details have surfaced from China about the announcement and launch of the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 and the larger 5.7 inch iPhone 6.
The news breaks via Tencent Digitial News in China whose source is well respected analyst Sun Chyang Xu.
The analyst believes trial production of the smaller and cheaper 4.7 inch version of the iPhone 6 will begin sometime in February with main production beginning in May.
Sun Chyang Xu predicts a formal announcement at the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco which begins on June 10th with a potential launch date from June onwards.
He also suggests that Apple will stick with the same 1136×640 display screen resolution as its predecessor with a higher resolution display to be included in the larger 5.7” inch iPhone 6 which should follow in the Autumn. Of course, the 5.7” inch iPhone 6 is phablet sized and may be branded as such by Apple.
Apple launched two versions of its predecessor in the form of iPhone 5S and 5C, so it seems logical to build on the success of these by having different price entry points along with different display sizes which would offer more choices to Apple fans.
The bottom line looks to be to expect two big iPhone launches in 2014 and we will bring more as we get more.
