Last week we reported that Sony were going to unveil a new Android tablet and now the Japanese company have officially unveiled the Sony Xperia Tablet Z.

Sony's Xperia Tablet Z is a premium Android tablet which has a stunning 10.1 inch Mobile Bravia 2 display. The touch-screen runs at a resolution of 1920 * 1200 pixels and utilises "Reality Display" technology ensuring perfect colour reproduction and product.

One of the main draws of any of Sony's mobile devices is their stunning design and the Xperia Tablet Z doesn't disappoint. The tablet is just 6.9 mm thick , weights just 495g and adopts a simple but elegant angular design.

Sony's tablet runs on Android Jelly Bean and is powered by a quad-core 1.5 Ghz processor which works in tandem with 2GB of RAM. On-board memory comes in at 32GB , while the Xperia Tablet Z also has an 8.1 mega-pixel camera.

The Sony Xperia Z Tablet is also both water-proof and dust-resistant which is pretty unusual on a high-end tablet. When it comes to connectivity the Tablet Z delivers because it supports 3G, WiFi and 4G.

Sony didn't confirm when the tablet will be available to buy , but rumours circulating online suggest it could be unveiled tomorrow in Japan. 3G will bring you any fresh information about the Xperia Tablet Z when we get it.
