RIM Launching 6 Blackberry 10 Devices This Year

RIM are going to officially unveil the Blackberry 10 operating system and the smartphones that will launch the platform at the end of this month. Consequently, the company hasn't been showcasing anything at CES 2013 , but they have revealed they'll launch 6 Blackberry 10 devices this year.

The information was revealed by RIM CMO Frank Boulben in an interview at the event which is currently in full flow. Boulben not only unveiled that 6 Blackberry 10 devices will launch , but also revealed that they won't all be premium devices.

That means we can look forward to affordable and mid-range Blackberry 10 smartphones in 2013. However, at launch we only expect the Blackberry X10 and Blackberry Z10 to be available which are both high-end smartphones.

The Blackberry Z10 is a full touch-screen smartphone which will have a 4.2 inch touch-screen (1280*720 pixels), TI OMAP4 processor, 1GB of RAM and an 8 mega-pixel camera. While, the Blackberry X10 is a QWERTY smartphone that is rumoured to have an 3.5 inch-touchscreen and could well support 4G.

RIM are holding Blackberry 10 events across the globe on January 30th and 3G will bring you all the news from the London event when the time comes !
