RIM are currently holding press events across the globe where they are unveiling the new Blackberry 10 platform and the smartphones that will launch the operating system.
As predicted Blackberry unveiled a full touch-screen smartphone, called the Blackberry Z10, alongside a QWERTY smartphone known as the Blackberry Q10. The Blackberry Q10 adopts a classic Blackberry design and is the mobile previously referred to as the Blackberry X10.
The Blackberry Q10 has a a full QWERTY keyboard which sits below a 3.1 inch touch-screen running at a resolution 720 * 720 pixels. Yes , you read that right it's a square display with a 1:1 aspect ratio which is pretty much standard on QWERTY devices.
While, the Q10 is powered by a dual-core 1.5 Ghz processor , has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board memory which is expandable using microSD cards. While, supported connectivity includes WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC !
The other big news is that the smartphone will support 4G and will be available to buy from EE. The combination of 4G and a QWERTY keyboard makes the Q10 the perfect device for social networking, browsing and keeping in touch with friends on Blackberry Messenger.
We don't yet have confirmation on when the Blackberry Q10 will land in the UK, but as soon as we hear more we'll let you know. We do know that the Z10, which was unveiled alongside the Q10, will be available to buy in the UK tomorrow !
