Alcatel have been showcasing a number of new smartphones at this years CES which is currently taking place in Las Vegas. Arguably the most interesting of these is the One Touch (OT) Idol Ultra , which is the world's thinnest smartphone.
The Alcatel OT Idol Ultra (pictured above) is an Android smartphone which a mid-range specification that is just 6.45mm thick. That officially breaks the record for a modern smartphone and to give you an idea of how thin it is the iPhone 5 7.6mm thick.
So what sort of specification can you enclose in such a thin body ?
Well, the OT Idol Ultra has a 4.7-inch HD OLED touch-screen which runs at a resolution of 1280*720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and has 1GB of RAM which reflects the mid-range nature of the smartphone.
The Idol Ultra has an 8 mega-pixel rear-facing camera that can capture full HD 1080p video , while it also has a front-facing 1.3 mega-pixel snapper. The mobile comes pre-loaded with Android Jelly Bean and will land sometime in 2013 !
ONE TOUCH Idol & ONE TOUCH Scribe HD
Alcatel also unveiled two other smartphones at this years CES 2013 which will launch this year alongside the OT Idol Ultra.
The first smartphone is the Alcatel One-Touch Ultra (pictured above) which is also a record breaker because it's the lightest smartphone in its category. The mobile weighs just 110 grams and has a 4.7 inch IPS display, dual-core processor and an 8 mega-pixel camera. The OT Ultra also runs on the Android platform and will also launch in 2013.
The other smartphone unveiled by Alcatel was the One Touch Scribe HD which is an 4G Android smartphone. Like the other two smartphones it'll land this year but we've no idea exactly when it'll launch.
The Scribe HD has a 5 inch HD touch-screen and is the first smartphone to include MediaTek's MT6589 quad-core chipset. Other features include an 8 mega-pixel camera, 4G support , a front-facing 720p snapper for video calling and it comes with a stylus !
