Sony Tapioca Affordable Android Smartphone Leaked
![]() |
At the end of last month we brought you news of an affordable Sony smartphone known as the Sony Kumquat , which is expected to be unveiled at MWC next month.
If the latest rumours are to be believed it won't be the only affordable smartphone Sony is launching in the next couple of months. New information suggests another Sony smartphone called the Sony Tapioca is due to be unveiled.
The Tapioca specification has been leaked and it will include a 3.2 inch touch-screen (320*480 pixels). It's powered by an 800Mhz processor and has 512MB of RAM, which is hardly cutting edge and surely ensures the smartphone will run on Android Gingerbread.
On-board memory comes in at 4GB, while other features revealed include a 3.2 mega-pixel camera and support for both 3G and WiFi.
The Sony Tapioca has a lower specification than the Kumquat, so we'd expect it to be priced significantly lower and as soon as we get any more information we'll let you know.
