The LG Optimus 2 has appeared at LG's website without any official information about its launch. We assume LG will be announcing the successor to the original LG Optimus shortly.

Just like its predecessor the LG Optimus 2 is an affordable smartphone which should be priced between £100 and £150. That means you won't get the best specification around, but the Optimus 2 is still a decent smartphone.

The Optimus 2 has a 3.2 inch touch-screen (800*452) and is powered by an 800 Mhz processor. Onboard memory is just 180MB , but is expandable using microSD cards while it also has a 3.2 mega-pixel camera.

Android Gingerbread is the driving force behind the mobile , which we doubt will ever be updated due to the limited specification of the Optimus 2.

So far the mobile has only appeared on LG's US site, but 3G see no reason why it wouldn't launch in the UK. Once we get more news about the LG Optimus 2 we'll let you know.
