Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab Won't Get Ice Cream Sandwich

Samsung officially ruled out a full update to Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) on both the Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab a couple of days ago.
The Korean company issued a statement saying that "“A full update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the GALAXY Tab(7-inch) and GALAXY S (pictured above) is not practicable due to hardware limitations.”"
However, rumours suggested that Samsung might launch a "value" pack update to both devices, which would incorporate some of the features of Android 4.0. That has also now been ruled out by Samsung, who reported to thenextweb.com that there would be no value pack.
To be fair to Samsung it would be a lot of work to get older devices running on Ice Cream Sandwich and the end-result would probably still be underwhelming. That doesn't stop it being disappointing for owners of the two devices, but 3G thinks it's probably the right move from Samsung.
