Blackberry Tag Enables Easy Sharing Using NFC
NFC, Blackberry Tag, BlackBerry 7.1 OS
Blackberry unveiled Blackberry OS 7.1 earlier in the week and Blackberry Tag is one of the main new features included in the update.
Blackberry Tag uses NFC to enable you to easily share information and files with other Blackberry smartphone owners.
With Blackberry Tag you tap two Blackberry mobiles together in order to transfer files or information, which is far easier than having to setup a Bluetooth pass-phrase and connect the two mobiles.
You can use Blackberry Tag in a number of ways including to invite a friend to BBM, share contact information, share documents, transfer files and to share a URL from inside the browser.
You might be wondering how secure the service is because it only involves tapping phones together. Well, by default Blackberry require you to confirm and transfer an exchange, but this can be turned off.
Also the service is automatically disabled when your mobile screen is turned off, which should avoid any unintentional transfers in your pocket. The data is also encrypted , which also makes it far more secure.
Blackberry Tag will be available on all Blackberry smartphones with NFC support that are upgraded to Blackberry 7.1 !
