All Change As RIM Change CEO
![]() |
RIM, who make Blackberry smartphones, have announced that their two chief executive offices (CEO) have stepped down and will be replaced by Chief operating officer Thorsten Heins.
Shareholders have been asking for Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie to step down for quite some time after a very bad year for RIM. In the past year they've seen a major server crash which received bad press across the world and have seen their share price tumble.
The share price fell 75 per cent in the last 12 months which is a shocking amount and 3G is surprised Blackberry didn't change something sooner.
RIM will now be hoping that the markets respond positively to the changes and that 2012 turns out to be a much better year. However, it won't be easy because the power of Android and iOS devices continues to grow !
