The latest online leak suggests that both Lenovo and Acer will launch Windows 8 powered tablets in the 3rd Quarter of 2012.
Windows 8 is the successor to both Windows 7 and Windows Phone 7 because it aims to provide a unified operating system across all platforms, including desktops , tablets and smartphones.
The new tablets , which were leaked by a source reporting to Digitimes, are expected to be powered by the Intel Medfield chipset which has been designed for smartphones and tablets.
Earlier today we brought you news that Intel processors could feature in a new LG smartphone and now we see them being rumoured in tablets. To 3G its looking more and more likely that Intel are making an assault on the mobile market !
Microsoft will be keen to try and take some market share from Apple who currently command 60 per cent of the tablet market. !
Very little other details are known about the two new Windows 8 tablets, but 3G expects them to be just a couple of a vast number of Windows 8 tablets launching towards the end of 2012 !
