Xperia X10 Gets Multitouch In Japan

Sony Ericsson has released an update for Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mobiles in Japan which enables multi-touch support.
The Xperia X10 range launched on Android 1.6 which doesn't support multi-touch but has since been updated to Android 2.1, which does support multi-touch. However, the update didn't bring multi-touch support which led to rumours of a hardware problem with the mobile.
Finally though the Xperia X10 has multi-touch support in Japan with an update being rolled out. However, the multi-touch support added isnt complete and only supports one gesture which is pinch-to-zoom.
This suggests that there could be a hardware problem with the X10 range, but at least it now supports multi-touch even if the gesture support is limited.
