Google's Android has leap-frogged the iPhone in the US as reported by comScore. The company produce a monthly U.S. Mobile Subscriber Market Share report. The section of the report which interests us is the results of the top US smartphone platforms.
The latest monthly report from comScore for November, 2010 shows that RIM, who make the BlackBerry, retains first position. However, Android has overtaken the iPhone as can be seen from the chart above.
BlackBerry retains market leadership with 33.5% ( previously 37.6% ), Android jumps into second place with 26% ( previously 19.5% ) and the iPhone drops one to third place with 25% ( previously 24.2% ).
We wait to see what happens in 2011, yet with all the Android tablets and smartphones announced at CES last week we can only see Android gaining much more ground. Lets wait for comScores next report and see if the current trends continue.
