Sony Ericsson Vivaz 2

Sony Ericsson looks as though it is gearing up for the launch of the Vivaz 2. The original Vivaz came with the Symbian operating system but that's changed now and the Vivaz 2 will come with Android on-board.

A pre-production model has been looked at by Mobile Review who also supplied the photo above. The original Vivaz was a Symbian smartphone which was reviewed by 3G in March 2010 and at that time we said " In terms of media functionality, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz is superb. But there are too many flaws to make it a serious contender".

The specification as outlined by Mobile Review for the Vivaz 2 Android smartphone is that it comes with Android 2.3 ( Gingerbread ), an 8 megapixel camera, a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM7630 processor and has 300MB of storage.

It also comes with the Mobile BRAVIA Engine which improves the image quality and the Exmor R sensor which improves quality at low light levels.

Mobile Review report that the "battery is some performer" which we see as meaning there is plenty of juice to run all the features and add-ons that the Vivaz 2 incorporates.

The logical place to officially launch the Sony Ericsson Vivaz 2 would be at the Mobile World Congress next month in Barcelona when we might expect confirmation of a launch date and a price.
