Google Nexus One To Get Gingerbread Very Soon !
![]() |
The Google Nexus One has been out for a while now so it's credit to Google that they will be updating the smartphone to the newest version of the Android operating system.
Google announced on the Nexus One Twitter page that " The Gingerbread OTA for Nexus One will happen in the coming weeks. Just hang tight!". It's great news for Nexus One owners because Android 2.3 improves on the previous version in a number of ways.
Android 2.3 will bring improved copy/paste functionality, power management, support for near-field communications (NFC), support for front-facing cameras and improved performance overall.
Another interesting thought is that the Google Nexus One could now be a great alternative to those who were thinking of getting a Google Nexus S.
The Google Nexus S does have a few advantages over its predecessor including much larger onboard memory (16GB v 512MB), a larger screen (4inch v 3.7 inch) and a better processor.
However, when you consider the price difference the Nexus One might be a tasty proposition considering it will run on Android 2.3.
