Google Considers Android Digital Newstand
![]() |
Google is reported to be considering offering Android based mags and newspapers via a 'digital newsstand' as reported by the Wall Street Journal. The newsstand would offer titles for smartphones and tablets.
The Wall Street Journal has indicated that Google has already approached a number of key publishers such as Publishers Time and Conde Nast.
"We've consistently said we're talking with publishers about ways we can work together, including whether we can help them with technology for subscription services. We have nothing specific to announce at this time," Google said in a statement.
Of course, with a great number of Android devices set to lanuch in 2011 we can see why this would be an attractive venture for Google.
