Android 3.0 ( Honeycomb ) Intro from Google

Google has been busy recently having released Android 2.3 and the the new Google Nexus S. The latest news which was released at the CES Show in Las Vagas is that Google has released a preview of Android 3.0 ( Honeycomb ). Google has released a video preview of Android 3.0 and this can be watched below.

 

Android 3.0 ( Honeycomb ) is the next main Android update and Google says that it has been designed from the bottom up and is aimed at Android devices with larger display screens such as Tablets.

 

Google say that Honeycomb provides a brand new, truly virtual and holographic user interface. The home screen now has 3D viewing with richer and more interactive widgets. There are also improvements to multi-tasking and notifications.

 

Google has updated the browser to include tabbed browsing, auto filling of forms and a private mode for web browsing. Android 3.0 includes Google Maps 5 with 3D interactions, Google eBooks and Google Talk (which now allows you to video and voice chat with any other Google Talk enabled Tablet or PC users etc.

 

There has already been Tablets announced which will ship with Android 3.0 such as the Motorola Xoom Tablet and the Toshiba Tablet announced recently. Google did not confirm exactly when Android 3.0 will be released but we will post it as soon as we hear more.
