Vodafone has confirmed that since the launch of its DRM free music subscription services they currently have 450,000 paying subscribers, which is the largest in Europe.
The Vodafone DRM Free Music Tracks to Mobile Phones was first announced in March 2009 and became available in September 2009. Now the DRM free music library lists over 2 million tracks and will expand to 6 million in 2010.
An indicator of how well Vodafone’s DRM free music subscription is doing is that in December, 2009 they signed up over 100,000 new subscribers in Europe. Vodafone customers ( new and old ) appear to like the 10 tracks per month value offer and also the unlimited download subscription. 10 MP3 music tracks via a monthly bundle package cost just £8-75p and can be played on mobile phones, music players and PCs.
The unlimited download subscription service ( AYCE - ‘all you can eat’ ) when bundled with data can access the whole library of 2 million tracks for just £2-65p.
