The Sony Xperia Z2 is coming in the next 10 days, but you can get a glimpse now.
The Sony Xperia Z2, codename Sirius, is without doubt a much awaited smartphone. Sony created such a marvellous device with the Xperia Z1, we all keenly sit and wait for its successor to arrive.
The Sony Xperia Z2 is expected, but not confirmed, to be unleashed at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in just 10 days’ time. We always see an increase in the number of leaks and rumours before a main exhibition and this is certainly the case with the Xperia Z2.
The latest leak reveals a spyshot (above) of the smartphone and a video (below) of Sony’s proprietary Android KitKat 4.4 UI in action, with a number of new features on display.
The Sony Xperia Z2 is believed to ship with KitKat and come with a 5.2 inch full-HD display with a 1920x1080 or 2560x1440 pixel resolution depending on which rumour monger will eventually be correct.
Talking of the display, the bezels shown above look to be the narrowest we have ever seen. The Z2 is on the left and the Z1 on the right, above.
The processing power is rumoured to come from its Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor buzzing along at 2.3GHz with an Adreno 330 GPU supporting it. The Z2 will allegedly come with 3 GB RAM and while we can hope for 32GB of on-board memory, but expect 16GB if it comes with a microSD slot just like its predecessor.
The main snapper is reported to weigh in at 20.7 megapixel which will no doubt produce crystal clear shots.
Meanwhile, the video below leads us through some of the goodies forming part of Sony's Android 4.4 User Interface. This includes an overview of the unlock screen, Walkman lock screen and Xperia Themes with a number of options which include: Earth, Sunny, Heat and a few more.
The video continues and we see the new camera icon for the lock screen and how to use it to quickly ignite the camera along with a number of new camera options.
Of course, none of the above has been so far confirmed by Sony but everyone expects the Sony Xperia Z2 to be unleashed at MWC in Barcelona on 24th February.
