Sony Xperia Z1 Compact underwater rescue to take a selfie

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact underwater rescue

The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact takes a splash.

The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is a smaller version of the fabulous Xperia Z1. The Xperia Z1 Compact packs nearly all the same goodies as its larger stablemate.

The main difference is that it comes with a smaller 4.3 inch HD TFT Triluminos display with a 720x1280 pixel resolution (ppi 342). Additionally, it has a smaller 2300 mAh battery to fit into the smaller compact smartphone.

When I first viewed the video below I thought what a strange video, but on second viewing it grew on me. It makes the point that the Xperia Z1 Compact could be one for the ladies, especially the pink version. The Compact will fit into the smallest of handbags and yes even if you drop your handbag from a diving board at the swimming pool, it will still work afterwards. Its a great moment to take an underwater selfie.

The Compact is dust and water proof certified to both IPX5 and IPX8. This means that the Xperia Compact is dust resistant, protected against low pressure water streams and it’s also protected against the effects of submersion in fresh water for 30 minutes up to 1.50 meter deep.

You can pre-register to purchase the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and be one of the first to have it.
