We were thrilled to learn of the launch of the Motorola Moto X in the UK and across Europe back in January. However, it was disappointing that users couldn't customise their smartphone prior to purchase with Moto Maker, which is possible in the US.
The good news is that it won't be long until Moto Maker for the Moto X lands in Western Europe. "We are about to start rolling out Moto maker in Western Europe” said Rick Osterloh, SVP Product Management of Google (who own Motorola) at MWC 2014.
He added that “And that is all happening in the second quarter” further commenting that “We’ll first be in the UK and Germany, and Mexico”.
When it does land users will be able to choose from a variety of coloured front and back cases, while it's even possible to add a custom signature to the rear of the smartphone. If that wasn't already enough you choose the colours of the smartphones' physical buttons.
For a little extra you can also choose a bamboo finish, which is our personal favorite and that's why we're so thrilled by the news that Moto Maker is coming to the UK. Currently, you can only pickup the mid-range smartphone in either Black or White for around £300.
As soon as we get more news about the launch of Moto Maker in the UK we'll let you know.
