LG L Series III smartphones offer consumers an affordable way into the world of KitKat
LG have officially unveiled a trio of new smartphones in the new LG Series III range ahead of next weeks Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The new LG L90, L70 and L40 all come pre-loaded with Android KitKat, giving consumers an affordable way to enjoy the very latest version of Android. They also all come with delicate finishing, refined metallic frames and support LG's "Quick Window" smart covers.
The "Quick Window" smart covers will be available in 3 colours and enable users to checkout their latest notifications without opening the cover, as well as protecting the smartphone from bumps and scratches.
The LG L90 has a 4.7-inch IPS display (960 x 540 pixels) and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor which is backed up by 1GB of RAM. It's the largest of the LG Series III range with dimensions of 131.6 x 66.0 x 9.7mm and comes with a 2,540mAh battery, 8GB of on-board memory, an 8 mega-pixel camera and supports 3G (HSPA+).
The slightly smaller LG L70 has a 4.5 inch IPS display (800*480 pixels), is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. On-board memory weighs in at 8GB and you get either an 8MP or 5MP camera (region dependant). It has dimensions of 127.2 x 66.8 x 9.5mm, a 2,100mAh and supports 3G (HSPA+).
The smallest, and presumably most affordable, of the new series is the LG L40. It has dimensions of 109.4 x 59.0 x 11.9mm and comes with a 3.5 inch (480*320 pixel) display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM. You get a 3 mega-pixel camera, 4GB of on-board storage and, you guessed it, support for 3G (HSPA+).
"In addition to inheriting the refined design aesthetic that is synonymous with LG’s premium devices, the LG Series III rangeprovides an array of user benefits that extend far beyond a simple upgrade,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
No details on price or availability were given, but as soon as we get more information you'll be the first to know.
