HTC M8 to dodge MWC 2014 in favour of March unveiling
HTC M8 won't make an appearance at MWC 2014 afterall
We were expecting HTC to unveil their successor to the award-winning HTC One (pictured above) at the Mobile World Congress later this month. But now it looks as though their new flagship smartphone won't be unveiled until the end of March.
The usually-reliable EVLeaks tweeted that "'Starting to look like a late March, NYC launch for HTC M8." So the new HTC smartphone, code-named the HTC M8 and expected to be branded the HTC One 2, will make its debut at the end of March in New York.
The March unveiling of the HTC One 2 would give HTC's rivals a head-start, with Samsung set to unveil the Galaxy S5 at MWC 2014 on February 24th and LG also expected to unveil their latest creation at the event in Barcelona.
Could the delayed unveiling negatively impact on sales of HTC's new smartphone? Or is HTC's decision to avoid competing directly for media attention with Samsung's Galaxy S5 a smart decision? Let us know your thoughts below.
