Acer Liquid E3 and Liquid Z4 affordable Android smartphones unveiled
Acer unveil Liquid E3 and Liquid Z4 smartphones
It's easy for new devices to get overlooked at the Mobile World Congress, especially if you are a smaller manufacturer unveiling more affordable smartphones.
That's probably why Acer have gone ahead and unveiled a couple of new smartphones ahead of next weeks event in Barcelona.
Both the Acer Liquid E3 and the Acer Liquid Z4 run on Android Jelly Bean and will go on sale across Europe in April.
The Acer Liquid E3 is the higher-specced and larger of the two, with a 4.7-inch 720p IPS display and a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor.
The mid-ranger has 1GB of RAM, a 13 mega-pixel rear-facing camera and a front-facing 2 mega-pixel snapper. It comes with just 4GB of on-board memory (with microSD support) and there is no 4G LTE support - but that can be forgiven for a device set to cost €199 (~ £160).
The Acer Liquid Z4 has a 4-inch TFT display and is set to cost just €99 (~ £60) when it lands in stores in April. It comes with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, has a 5 mega-pixel snapper with LED flash and 4GB of on-board storage.
Both new smartphones will be showcased at MWC 2014 when we'll get the full lowdown on the new devices. You can follow all the breaking news from MWC 2014 in our hub here.
