LG has been showcasing its latest technology called Wireless Ultra High Definition (Ultra HD) Transmission technology at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It is designed for smartphone users to view games and mobile content on the company's Ultra HD TVs, via WiFi.
Wireless Ultra HD Transmission operates in real time via wireless data transfer between the smartphone and the Ultra HD TV. This is the first time it has been seen and LG call this an exciting next generation mobile feature. As an added bonus it uses 50% less power than other similar technologies so your smartphone is not zapped of battery power and resources.
The neatest feature with Wireless Ultra HD Transmission is that the smartphone’s multimedia output - during transmission - is automatically optimised to the receiving TV’s screen size and display resolution to produce near-perfect visuals. LG claim the technology works faster and smoother than other similar systems.
“Thanks to our innovative Wireless Ultra HD Transmission technology, users can now enjoy their favorite mobile content on today’s most advanced Ultra HD TVs,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “With the development of this cutting-edge technology, LG again confirms its industry leadership in the area of display and mobile convergence for a truly enjoyable viewing experience.”
