Nokia Lumia 920 versus Samsung Galaxy S3 Challenge

The Nokia Lumia 920 is the flagship model in the Nokia Lumia series of smartphones and the flagship smartphone within Windows Phone 8, so its not really a surprise to see Microsoft throwing its weight behind promoting the Lumia 920.

What is a bit of a surprise, is that Microsoft have decided to carry out a “Windows Phone Challenge” between the Nokia Lumia 920 and and the Samsung Galaxy S3. Both of these have recently won a “Smartphone of the Year” award. The Samsung Galaxy S3 won its award at Mobile World Congress whilst the Nokia Lumia 920 won its award via the Engadget website awards.

3G undertook reviews of both the Nokia Lumia 920 and the Galaxy S3 and our reviewers gave the Galaxy S3 a higher overall rating but now it seems Microsoft have found some strengths the Nokia Lumia 920 possesses over the Galaxy S3. Of course, you’d expect Microsoft to favour the Nokia Lumia 920, being a Windows Phone 8 handset, yet its still interesting to see their ideas in the video below.

The video shows a number of “passers by” who own a Galaxy S3, who are challenged to test their S3 against the presenter with his Lumia 920. Those who take up the challenge, unsurprisingly lose the challenge, and are then offered an upgrade  to the Lumia 920. An interesting tactic from Microsoft which we have seen deployed by Samsung themselves before, who were mocking the Apple iPhone. What goes around comes around !
