The Apple iPhone Mini has been doing the rumour-rounds since the start of last year and Apple are still yet to confirm the existence of the smartphone. Earlier in the year we reported that the iPhone Mini wouldn't launch until 2014, but that has now been disputed by new rumours.
The fresh rumours suggest that Apple will launch the iPhone Mini this Summer with June looking like the most likely launch date. Additionally, they also suggested that Apple's more affordable iPhone could be known as the iPhone Air rather than the iPhone Mini.
The new name is thought to refer to the increased portability and lighter weight of the new iPhone. Apparently, in order to keep down costs the iPhone Air will have a plastic exterior which will also ensure it's extremely light.
Apple's iPhone Mini (or Air) is also expected to cost 50 per cent less than Apple's iPhone 5 which would put in direct competition with the plethora of mid-range Android smartphones on the market. The $300 price-tag will mean a significantly lowered specification , but right now we don't have any further details on its features.
3G expects the biggest sacrifice to be made with the display which we expect to come in around 4 inches and to run at a non-Retina resolution. While, onboard memory is likely to be cut and the processor to be downscaled.
As soon as we get more news about Apple's iPhone Mini you'll be the first to know !
