HTC originally announced that the HTC One S would be getting Android Jelly Bean way back in October 2012, which seems a long time ago, when you consider that customers of some mobile operators don't yet have it.
We recall that EISA awarded the HTC One S its "Best Social Media Phone” award of 2012 at the EISA awards held last August - so we are sure that owners of such a good phone are disappointed to be left out of the Android Jelly Bean party.
However, good news for HTC One S owners with Three as the operator announces Jelly Bean is winging its way to customers right now. Three say the update will automatically download to your HTC One S but just in case you cant wait you can check the availability and download Jelly Bean manually by heading to - All Apps – tap Settings – then About – then Software Updates – then Tap Now. Job done. You can see from the above that some users are already reporting a successful update.
Once you've got Android Jelly Bean installed you can then get Google Now and its traffic, weather and sports updates, you can reply and send emails directly from the notification menu and use enhanced predictive text. It also provides the facility to speak commands to the phone via speech recognition.
3G undertook our HTC One S Review in April 2012 when we concluded “this is a slim, nicely designed device with a fabulous snapper and a tough, yet slim chassis” .
