Apple iOS 6.1.1 Released To Address iPhone 4S's 3G Connectivity Issues

Apple iOS 6

Apple released iOS 6.1 a couple of weeks ago and earlier this week we reported that Vodafone were advising iPhone 4S owners not to install the update due to a bug affecting 3G connectivity.

Apple how now released iOS 6.1.1 which fixes the bug affecting Apple's older iPhone model. After updating to iOS 6.1 iPhone 4S were having trouble connecting to 3G networks and unreliability when it came to making and receiving calls.

Thankfully, that's all now been resolved meaning iPhone 4S owners can safely update to iOS 6.1.1. However, the whole situation is pretty embarrassing for Apple who've done their best to keep the problem out of the headlines.

Interestingly, Apple's iOS 6.1.1 update is only rolling out to the iPhone 4S which was thought to be the only device affected. However, a number of iPhone 5 owners are also reporting similar problems so it's possible we might see a similar update for Apple's latest iPhone.

Another criticism levelled at the iOS 6.1 update by iPhone 4S owners was that it was draining their battery very quickly. We're not sure whether this has been fixed by the update , but it possible it could have been related to the 3G connecivity problems.
