Yahoo have launched App Search in the UK which is the only cross-platform mobile application search engine in the world.

Yahoo App Search combines both Android and iPhone applications into one database which is easily searchable.

We can't quite get our head around why you'd want to search for both Android and iPhone applications from one place, unless your comparing whats available on both.

However, Yahoo obviously think this is important and we suppose it could be used to decide which smartphone to buy. The real value in 3G's eyes is for app developers who can use it to look for gaps in the market.
