The Samsung Galaxy SIII won't be announced at the Mobile World Congress later this month, but Samsung did confirm it'll be showcased in the first half of 2012.

We've now read new rumours which suggest that the Galaxy SIII will launch in May and will be the world's slimmest smartphone. The Galaxy S3 is rumoured to be just 7mm thick, which is a full 1.7 mm thinner than the Galaxy SII (pictured above).

Details about the specification were also leaked by the same source and claim that the Galaxy SIII will come with a quad-core processor, HDMI port, LTE support and a 3D camera. The touch-screen is expected to be a Super AMOLED display with a HD resolution, while the smartphone will be powered by Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

Lots of crazy rumours about the Galaxy S3 are floating around right now including that it'll be a flexible/bendy smartphone. However, a lot of these rumours will undoubtedly prove incorrect and 3G highly doubts we'll see bendy smartphones at this time.

Once we get anymore news about the Samsung Galaxy SIII you'll be the first to know.
