HTC Issue Fix For Critical WiFi Security Flaw !
![]() |
HTC have announced that they've issued a fix for a security flaw which has existed on their smartphones for some time.
The security flaw could have enabled hackers to downloaded your WiFi details including the username and password onto a remote server. Obviously, you don't want people gaining access to your WiFi network or getting hold of your passwords , which you might also use elsewhere.
The mobiles affected include the HTC Desire S, HTC Evo 3D, HTC Desire HD and the HTC Sensation. Most of the smartphones should have automatically received the update, but some might need to be updated manually.
HTC haven't reported this security flaw previously because hackers would have exploited it, so they've kept it quiet until after the fix has been issued. We're not sure what mobiles might need to be updated manually, but if 3G hears anything more we'll let you know.
