Google have unveiled that for the last few months they've been using a "Bouncer" to stop undesirable applications from appearing on the Android Market.

Before an application becomes available on the Android Market the Bouncer scans it for malicious software, such as spyware, malware or trojans. Infact, every application is run on "The Cloud" before it gets approved to simulate running on Android smartphone.

Google has also added developer accounts so they can easily track developers who've submitted malicious applications in the past.

Google has been using the service at the Android Market for a while now and it has been a huge success. In the first and second halves of 2011 Google saw a 40 per cent reduction in the amount of malicious software on their app store.

Malicious software is expected to become a bigger and bigger problem as applications become more and more complex and people store more and more data on their smartphones. 3G highly recommends installing some form of protection on your smartphone , even if its just a free application.
