Toshiba has unveiled that they will be launching an Android tablet, which will have a high-end specification.
The new tablet will have a 10.1 inch touch-screen with “Adaptive Display” technology. Adaptive Display technology automatically adjusts the brightness and contrast of the display according to the ambient lighting conditions.
The display runs at a resolution of 1280*800 pixels and has an aspect ratio of 16:10. It also features Toshiba Resolution+ which enhances the quality of standard definition videos in order to capitalise on the HD display.
The Toshiba Tablet will be powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 Dual Core processor and will feature 2 cameras. A rear-facing 5 mega-pixel camera will take high-quality photos and videos while a front-facing 2 mega-pixel camera can be used for video-calling.
The tablet will also feature a HDMI-out for playing back HD content on your TV, PC or any other device. It also features a full USB 2.0 port for connecting external storage devices or cameras and a microSD card for memory expansion. In terms of connectivity it will support both 3G and WiFi.
Android 3.0 will power the Toshiba Tablet, which is a version built specifically for tablets and the first to fully utilise dual-core processors.
The Toshiba Tablet will launch in the first half of 2011 worldwide.
