Motorola Xoom On Sale April

Motorola has announced that the Motorola Xoom will be on sale with the Carphone Warehouse, Currys and Dixons this April. It comes with Android 3.0 which has been designed for tablets and is ready to go.

The Carphone Warehouse will launch the 3G / Wi-Fi version of the Xoom whilst Currys and PC World will sell the W-Fi only version.

"We're excited to be bringing a device as powerful as the Motorola XOOM to leading carriers and partners in the U.K.," said Andrew Morley, vice president of marketing for Motorola Mobility, international markets. "Today's announcement is testament to how well the Motorola XOOM has been received by consumers and carriers alike."

The Motorola XOOM comes with a 10.1-inch  widescreen HD display with 1280x800 resolution, has up to 10 hours of video playback and has a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera for 720p video capture and 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling.

There is a dual-core processor with each core running at 1GHz. Android 3.0 offers multi-tasking, browsing, notifications and customization. The Xoom also comes with Adobe Flash Player.

There is also support for Adobe AIR applications, XOOM users will be first to experience Adobe Content Viewer on Android with its rich and interactive digital magazines and branded publications.
