iPhone OS Updated but No New Features
![]() |
An iPhone OS update has surfaced for iPhone and iPod Touch users. There had been rumblings about a more significant iPhone OS update but that is more likely to be announced at at this month’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
This iPhone OS update to OS 3.1.3 addresses a number of bugs with a mainteance update included. The main benefit of the version 3.1.3 update is that improves the battery life indicator stability and accuracy. The update makes the iPhone more stable when some 3rd party apps are used ie they don’t crash. Additionally, glitches relating to the Japanese Kana keyboard have been eliminated.
It’s noticeable that no new features have been added. An issue for users thinking of updating to the new OS 3.1.3. is jailbreaking ( the use of non approved applications and code ) wont now work. Jailbreakers are advised NOT to update to the new OS update at the current time and wait for the “greenlight” from the jailbreaking community.
