Microsoft has unveiled Windows Phone 7 Series, which is a new mobile operating system.  

Windows Phone 7 Series adopts a holistic design approach which informs every aspect of the phone, including visual layouts, function and hardware integration.

The start screen will feature “live tiles” which show real-time content directly to your home-screen. For Example, you can create a tile of a friend and view their latest pictures and posts on your home-screen. Windows Phone 7 Series devices will also have a dedicated button for Bing, so you can have one-click access to the search engine.

One of the main draws of the Windows Phone 7 Series software is the new Windows Phone hubs which bring together related content from the web, applications and services into a single view.

6 hubs are featured on Windows Phone Series 7 with the first being a “people hub”, which brings together a persons information from social networks on one-screen and also enables you to post updates on Facebook and Windows Live in one-step.

The “picture hub” enables easy sharing of pictures and video to social networks, as well as integrating a user’s photo with the web and PC.

The “game hub” brings Xbox LIVE to your mobile and enables you to view gamer profiles, avatars and achievements on your mobile. The “music and video” hub creates a media experience that brings the best of ZUNE, online music services and a built-in FM radio to your mobile.

The “marketplace” hub enables you to find the latest applications and updates for your mobile, while the “office” hub enables you to access all your favourite Microsoft applications on your mobile including email and office applications.

Microsoft are thought to be releasing a mobile made by Asus to mark the launch of Windows Phone 7 Series.
