Up until now if you wanted to have Twitter on a Blackberry than you had to use a program like TwitterBerry or similar, and they were not ideal. But now Blackberry is launching their own Twitter App for BlackBerry smartphones and it’s been developed specifically with both Blackberry and Twitter users in mind.

At this time, the Twitter App for BlackBerry Smartphones is available only by invitation to trial the Beta version. However, you can register your interest to be notified when Twitter App for BlackBerry Smartphones goes live here www.blackberry.com/twitter.

The new App features :

Push technology / Message List integration for notification of direct messages on arrival, bit.ly for auto shortening web URLs, navigation icons for user profiles, direct messages, people search, topic search and important topics, ability to send direct messages from your Twitter inbox or through your BlackBerry message List, capture an image via BlackBerry camera and send the shot straight to TwitPic, use your GPS enabled BlackBerry smartphone to search for Twitters based on your interest and location and supports the official Twitter Re-Tweet feature

Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones will be available soon for all to download everyone through BlackBerry App World (Test Center ).
