Acer Liquid e Running on Android 2.1

Acer has announced a new version of its Acer Liquid smartphone. The new version called the Acer Liquid e will run on the Android 2.1, the latest version of the mobile operating system.
The Acer Liquid e has almost identical hardware specification to the Acer Liquid, meaning it has a 3.5 inch capacitive touch-screen, 5 MP camera and 512MB of internal memory. New hardware additions include support for 3G and HD video playback.
The main additions though come in the benefits that Android 2.1 brings over 1.6, which was the version used in the original Acer Liquid. Firstly, it enables you to have five home-screens on your Acer Liquid e for even more personalisation and customisation.
Another new function is the “Quick Contacts” that enables users to easily switch between address and social network contacts. It also adds a new keyboard layout with an extended dictionary, which is a bonus as the first Liquid was criticized for its keyboard layout. Additionally, a new version of the Android browser is added which supports double-tap zooming, HTML5 and video tagging.
Once we get news of the Acer Liquid e launch date and price we’ll let you know.
