Comprehensive Book on 3G LTE Measurement, Design Challenges

23rd February, 2009

US : Agilent Technologies announced its new book, “LTE and the Evolution to 4G Wireless – Design and Measurement Challenges,” an in-depth examination of the new 3GPP LTE cellular technology and the challenges it poses to engineering design and test teams.

Written by Agilent’s measurement experts, the book offers valuable insight into the LTE air interface at the physical layer. Contributions from LTE authorities Dr. K.F. Tsang and Anite Telecoms round out the signaling and protocol coverage. The content provides technical and practical knowledge about the complex LTE technology that is projected to be deployed in 2010.

The Agilent LTE book can be ordered online or at Agilent’s booth here at the 2009 Mobile World Congress. Agilent will also display its comprehensive lineup of LTE design and test solutions, which enable engineers in R&D and manufacturing, installation and maintenance to develop and deliver innovative products for the rapidly evolving mobile communication market.

“We wrote this book to assist our customers in their rapid design and delivery of LTE,” said Ron Nersesian, vice president of Agilent’s Wireless Business Unit. “It is written by measurement experts for measurement experts to provide a valuable resource about test for cellular deployment.”

Readers will find chapters on advanced technologies used in LTE such as MIMO and SC-FDMA, the new uplink modulation scheme. Upper-layer signaling and the system architecture evolution (SAE) are included as well. Of particular value to early LTE adopters are the chapters on design and test challenges. The authors, many of them participants in 3GPP standards committees, discuss techniques for verifying the designs of the receivers, transmitters and protocols of LTE systems and provide the latest information on RF and signaling conformance test.

“LTE and the Evolution to 4G Wireless – Design and Measurement Challenges” can be ordered at www.agilent.com/find/ltebook with availability April 2009.
