Samsung Galaxy S5 believed to ship in April
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is the subject of much debate these days with a fresh rumour arriving nearly every day or so. The latest of these suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will not arrive until Q2, 2014.
Previously, it was rumoured that the Galaxy S5 would be announced in February at Mobile World Congress (MWC) and start shipping in March. This now seems unlikely as technology guru Eldar Murtazin believes the S5 will not launch before April.
Murtazin is a renowned tipster we have followed for 2 or 3 years, and he is more often near the mark than way off with his predictions.
We are sure Samsung are working on the S5 but the majority of the work could so far be in-house. Murtazin says that Samsung has not yet shown the Galaxy S5 to any of its partners so far. This seems to make sense to us because that’s normally when we see photos and parts lists being leaked.
Last week saw ET News post a rumoured specification for the S5 and this included:
- choice of either a metal chassis or a more affordable plastic one
- 64-bit, 8-core processor
- 16 megapixel camera
- 3GB of RAM
- Eye scanner
- 5-inch WQHD 2560 x 1440p display
- PPI of 441
Taking everything into account we would expect to see the Galaxy S5 announced at MWC in February followed by a shipping date of April.
Of course, none of the above is factual but it may also not be too far off the mark.
